INDIAN CHEMICAL COUNCIL (ICC), established in 1938, is the apex national body representing all branches of Chemical Industry in India such as Organic & Inorganic Chemicals, Plastics & Petrochemicals & Petroleum Refineries, Dyestuffs & Dye-intermediates, Fertilizers & Pesticides, Specialty Chemicals, and Paints etc.
ICC is dedicated to the growth of the Indian Chemical Industry. Since its formation in 1938, ICC has over the years grown its functions and offerings to cater to the varying needs of the Indian Chemical Industry, by regularly conducting Seminars, Workshops, Training Programs, and other national and international events from time to time.
Responsible Care is the global voluntary initiative of the chemical industry to excel and continually improve health, safety and environmental performance. RC represents self-imposed ethical commitment for better safety performance and responsible management of chemicals throughout their life cycle. ICC is the only nodal agency for propagating Responsible Care movement in India. NicerGlobe is ICCs latest RC initiative for Transport Distribution Safety, Emergency Response & Preparedness and Transport Security.
ICC Awards: ICC presents Annual Awards in recognition of achievement and for excellence in outstanding contributions to the chemical industry in the varied fields of Development of Indigenous Technology, Process Design & Engineering, Management of Health / Safety / Environment, Energy Conservation & Management, Social Responsibility, Human Resource Management, Best Responsible Care Committed Company and Lifetime Achievement Award for Individuals for outstanding contributions to Indian Chemical Industry, academia and research.
As yet another service to the industry, ICC issues Certificate of Origin (Non-preferential), which is an invaluable document for exporters of chemical products.
India being a signatory to CHEMICAL WEAPONS CONVENTION (CWC), ICC, with the support of Govt. of India, has set up CWC HelpDesks in various regions to help the manufacturers of scheduled chemicals which comes under the purview of CWC to file the declarations and comply with other regulations under the CWC Act.
ICC closely interacts with all major international associations viz; American Chemistry Council (ACC), International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA), Chemical Industries Association UK (CIA), North East England Process Industry Cluster (NEPIC) etc. etc.
CHEMICAL NEWS is the monthly magazine which ICC publishes since 1956 uninterruptedly which disseminates latest updates on happenings in Chemical Industry, nationally and internationally, with authentic articles on process safety, R&D activities and other related news which is considered as a magazine for Decision Makers in Chemical Industry.
